Is a polygraph examination legal in Ukraine?
The examination is conducted voluntarily and in compliance with Ukrainian law. Before the examination the respondent gives written voluntary consent. Refusing an examination does not in itself indicate truthfulness, deception or involvement.
How accurate is a polygraph?
A polygraph gives no absolute guarantee of establishing a fact. The result is assessed taking into account the method, the conditions, the content of the agreed questions and the psychophysiological reactions recorded.
How long does an examination take?
1.5–3 hours including the pre-test interview. Two or three people can be examined properly in one day.
How much does it cost?
Pre-employment screening — from 3,000 UAH per person, workplace checks — from 5,000 UAH per person, family disputes — from 4,000 UAH, infidelity — from 7,000 UAH, domestic staff — from 3,000 UAH. Travel — individually. Consultation is free. The exact price is agreed before the examination.
What do I receive at the end?
A written report with the assessment results for the agreed questions and an explanation of the main conclusions. A video recording of the test on request.
When will the report be ready?
The written report is usually prepared on the day of the examination. In complex cases — within 24 hours. I explain the result verbally right away.
Can the report be used in court?
My report is not a forensic examination. Whether a particular document can be used in court proceedings depends on the circumstances of the case and the requirements of the relevant procedural law.
Do you examine children and teenagers?
No, I do not test minors.
Can I take a test to prove my innocence?
Yes, and it is a common situation: a person initiates the examination themselves to clear suspicion at work or in the family.
Do you travel outside Chernivtsi?
Yes: across the region, to other cities of Ukraine and abroad — Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Romania and other countries by arrangement. The equipment is portable.
Can someone prepare for or «beat» a polygraph?
Attempts at countermeasures may affect the validity and interpretation of the results. Signs of possible countermeasures are taken into account during the examination and its assessment. The best preparation is to sleep well, eat as usual and not change any medication prescribed by your doctor on your own. Tell the examiner about medication and your health before the test.
In which languages is the test conducted?
Ukrainian, English and Romanian. The questions are agreed in advance in the language the respondent understands best.
